The Samsung Galaxy A07s represents Samsung’s commitment to delivering affordable smartphones without sacrificing essential features. Samsung launched this device in September 2026 as a refreshed version of the Galaxy A07, bringing meaningful upgrades to the entry-level segment. The Galaxy A07s targets budget-conscious consumers who need a reliable smartphone for everyday tasks, long battery life, and extended software support.

Samsung designed the Galaxy A07s for users who want a large display, dependable performance, and the security of knowing their device will receive updates for years to come. The phone competes directly with other budget Android devices by offering a compelling combination of hardware and software longevity.

Design and Build Quality

Samsung built the Galaxy A07s with a slim, practical design that emphasizes portability and ease of use. The device measures just 7.6 millimeters thick, making it one of the slimmer phones in its price range. This thin profile allows users to hold the phone comfortably for extended periods, whether scrolling through social media or watching videos.

The Galaxy A07s weighs 188 grams, a reasonable weight given its large 6.7-inch display. The phone features a flat frame design that provides a secure grip and a modern appearance. Samsung constructs the rear panel and frame from durable plastic materials, a standard choice for budget smartphones that keeps costs down while maintaining everyday durability.

Samsung offers the Galaxy A07s in three color options: Black, Light Violet, and Green. These color choices give consumers flexibility to match the phone to their personal style. The Black option provides a classic, professional look, while Light Violet adds a touch of personality. Green offers a fresh, distinctive alternative for users who want something different.

The Galaxy A07s carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. This rating means the phone can withstand dust ingress and water splashes from various directions, including 360-degree water spray. Samsung designed this protection to handle everyday situations such as light rain, accidental spills, or dusty environments. However, users should note that the IP54 rating does not make the phone waterproof, and the protection may diminish over time with normal wear and tear.

Display: Large Screen for Immersive Viewing

Samsung equipped the Galaxy A07s with a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display that delivers an immersive viewing experience for media consumption and everyday use. The large screen size makes the phone ideal for watching videos, browsing websites, and reading content comfortably. The edge-to-edge design maximizes the viewing area, giving users more screen real estate in a package that remains manageable to hold.

The display features HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. While this resolution falls short of the Full HD+ panels found on more expensive Galaxy models, it remains adequate for everyday tasks. Text and images appear clear enough for casual use, and the resolution helps conserve battery life, a trade-off that benefits users who prioritize longevity over pixel density.

Samsung includes a 90Hz refresh rate on the Galaxy A07s display. This feature makes scrolling through menus, social media feeds, and web pages noticeably smoother than standard 60Hz panels. The higher refresh rate enhances the overall user experience, particularly when navigating the interface or playing casual games. The display supports 16 million colors, ensuring vibrant and accurate color reproduction for photos and videos.

The PLS LCD technology provides good viewing angles and decent brightness levels. Samsung rates the display at up to 800 nits of brightness in some regions, which helps with outdoor visibility. However, users should expect some difficulty viewing the screen in direct, bright sunlight, as the brightness levels remain modest compared to premium smartphones.

Performance and Hardware

Samsung powers the Galaxy A07s with the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor, a 6-nanometer octa-core chip that represents a significant upgrade over the previous generation. This processor features two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency for everyday tasks.

The Helio G99+ chip handles daily activities with ease. Users can browse the web, check social media, stream videos, and switch between apps without experiencing significant lag or slowdown. The processor supports casual gaming, allowing users to enjoy titles like Candy Crush, Among Us, and other moderately demanding games at acceptable frame rates. Samsung’s choice of this chipset ensures the Galaxy A07s remains responsive for typical smartphone usage patterns.

Samsung pairs the processor with 4GB of RAM in the standard configuration. This memory capacity supports basic multitasking, allowing users to keep several apps open in the background. However, heavy multitaskers may notice apps reloading when switching between many demanding applications. The Galaxy A07s also supports LPDDR5X RAM in some configurations, which offers faster data transfer speeds than older memory standards.

The Galaxy A07s comes with 64GB of internal storage as standard, with a 128GB option available in some markets. After accounting for system files, users have approximately 46GB of usable space on the 64GB model. This capacity provides enough room for essential apps, photos, and a moderate music collection. However, users who take many photos or download large games will appreciate the dedicated microSD card slot, which supports cards up to 2TB. Samsung’s decision to include a dedicated memory card slot means users can expand storage without sacrificing one of the dual SIM slots.

Camera System

Samsung equipped the Galaxy A07s with a dual rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel main sensor. This primary camera features an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, allowing it to capture detailed images with good color reproduction in favorable lighting conditions. The high megapixel count enables users to crop photos without losing too much detail, and Samsung’s image processing software balances light and shadow to produce pleasing results.

The 50MP main camera performs well in daylight and well-lit indoor environments. Photos show good dynamic range and accurate colors that align with Samsung’s characteristic processing style. The camera handles moderate lighting conditions competently, though low-light performance naturally suffers without optical image stabilization. Users should expect some blur in dimly lit scenes, particularly when capturing moving subjects.

A 2-megapixel secondary sensor accompanies the main camera. This auxiliary lens assists with depth sensing for portrait mode effects, allowing users to create photos with blurred backgrounds. The Galaxy A07s does not include a dedicated ultra-wide or telephoto camera, so users must rely on digital zoom for close-up shots. Samsung supports digital zoom up to 10x, though image quality degrades significantly at higher magnification levels.

For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy A07s features an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. This camera produces acceptable self-portraits in good lighting and handles video calls adequately. The front camera does not include autofocus or optical image stabilization, so users should hold the phone steady when taking selfies.

The Galaxy A07s records video at up to Full HD 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second. The camera also supports HD slow-motion recording at 120 frames per second. Samsung does not include 4K video recording on this model, a limitation typical of budget smartphones. The video quality suffices for casual clips and social media sharing, though serious videographers will want a more capable device.

Battery Life and Charging

Samsung includes a 5,000mAh battery in the Galaxy A07s, a capacity that has become standard for budget smartphones and delivers reliable all-day performance. The large battery combined with the efficient 6nm processor and HD+ display allows users to get through a full day of typical usage without searching for a charger.

Users can expect the Galaxy A07s to handle messaging, social media browsing, video streaming, and light gaming throughout the day. Heavy users who stream video for hours or play demanding games may need to recharge before the day ends, but most users will find the battery capacity sufficient for their needs. The phone’s power efficiency benefits from the 720p display resolution, which demands less power than higher-resolution panels.

The Galaxy A07s charges via USB Type-C and supports 25W fast charging in some regions. Samsung does not include a charger in the box in many markets, so users may need to purchase a compatible adapter separately. The charging speed remains modest compared to premium smartphones, but the large battery capacity means users can charge overnight and wake up with plenty of power for the day ahead.

Software and Long-Term Support

The Galaxy A07s runs Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8.5 interface at launch. Samsung’s One UI provides a clean, feature-rich user experience with customization options, intuitive navigation, and useful tools like Quick Share for file transfers and Smart Switch for migrating from other devices.

The most significant software advantage of the Galaxy A07s lies in Samsung’s commitment to long-term updates. Samsung promises six major operating system upgrades and six years of security patches for this device. This level of support is exceptional in the budget smartphone segment, where manufacturers typically offer only two or three years of updates. Samsung Africa lists security support through August 31, 2032, giving buyers confidence that their investment will remain secure and current for years.

This extended software support means the Galaxy A07s will receive new features and security fixes well into the future. Users can expect their phone to remain compatible with the latest apps and services for much longer than typical budget devices. The commitment to six OS upgrades ensures the phone will not become obsolete quickly, making it a smart long-term purchase for budget-conscious consumers.

Connectivity and Additional Features

The Galaxy A07s supports 4G LTE connectivity across multiple bands, ensuring broad network compatibility in most regions. The phone operates on 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, though it does not support 5G connectivity. For budget smartphone buyers, 4G LTE remains sufficient for everyday browsing, streaming, and communication needs.

Samsung includes dual SIM support with a dedicated microSD card slot, allowing users to use two phone numbers while expanding storage simultaneously. This configuration provides flexibility for travelers, business users, or anyone who wants to separate work and personal contacts.

The Galaxy A07s features Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless audio and accessory connections. This newer Bluetooth version offers improved connection stability and energy efficiency compared to older standards. The phone also supports Wi-Fi 5 for wireless internet connectivity.

Samsung includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick and secure device unlocking. The sensor integrates into the power button, providing fast access without requiring users to reach for the screen. The Galaxy A07s also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing users to connect wired headphones without needing an adapter. This feature has become increasingly rare on smartphones, making the A07s a practical choice for users who prefer wired audio.

The phone includes a mono speaker that supports Dolby Atmos sound technology, enhancing the audio experience for video content. While a single speaker cannot match the stereo setup of premium phones, the Dolby Atmos support improves clarity and immersion for movies and games.

Samsung Ecosystem Integration

The Galaxy A07s integrates seamlessly with Samsung’s broader ecosystem of devices and services. Users can pair the phone with Galaxy Buds for wireless audio, Galaxy Fit3 for fitness tracking, and other Samsung accessories for a connected experience.

Quick Share allows users to transfer files effortlessly between Samsung devices, as well as with iOS devices and PCs. This feature simplifies sharing photos, videos, and documents without relying on third-party apps or cloud services.

Smart Switch enables users to migrate data from their old phone, including from iOS devices, with minimal effort. The tool transfers photos, videos, contacts, and apps, making the transition to the Galaxy A07s smooth and hassle-free.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung launched the Galaxy A07s in select global markets starting in September 2026. The phone initially debuted in the Levant region, including Jordan, before expanding to other markets.

The Galaxy A07s starts at approximately $167 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. The 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs around $210, while a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option is available in some regions for approximately $245. Prices vary by market due to taxes, import duties, and carrier agreements.

In Kenya, the Galaxy A07s retails for approximately KSh 17,199 to KSh 17,500, depending on the retailer and configuration. European pricing starts at approximately 140 EUR for the base model. These prices position the Galaxy A07s as an affordable option for budget-conscious consumers who still want a reliable Samsung device.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy A07s delivers a compelling package for budget smartphone buyers. The large 6.7-inch 90Hz display provides an immersive viewing experience, while the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor handles everyday tasks efficiently. The 50MP camera captures detailed photos in good lighting, and the 5,000mAh battery ensures all-day usage.

The most significant selling point remains Samsung’s commitment to six years of OS upgrades and security updates, a level of support unmatched in the budget segment.
